| The CVS technology (Segmented Vectorial Cartography) allows to
display on-screen maps and perform basic zoom and pan operations on them. Each map is composed
of bidimensionally-indexed layers that can be shown or hidden as needed. Also, dynamic
zooming can adjust the degree of detail shown as the working scale
changes.
You can have a look at some images of CVS in
action.
Revision 2 of the CVS technology is currently
being used to give cartographic support to our products.
Also, we are in the final stages of the development of revision 3, which
brings new features such as three-dimensional terrain models management
and improved performance.
You can learn more about the CVS technology reading the article The CVS Data Format,
published
in the issue 299 (May 1999) of Dr Dobb's
Journal.
